Open Weekend
The London 2012 Open Weekend took place between 22-24 July 2011 and celebrated one year to go until the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.
Over the course of the weekend, thousands of people across the UK took part in over 1000 unique events and creative projects to celebrate the ‘One Year to Go’ countdown. Events in Scotland took place throughout the country and included everything from particapative dance project Get Set Glasgow, National Theatre Scotland’s Extreme Ceilidh to walking tours of Glasgow’s public art collection and a swimming choir in South Lanarkshire.
