Programme Aims & Approach
The aim of Creative Scotland’s 3 Year Cultural Economy Investment Programme (2011/12 – 2013/14) is to:
Develop the cultural economy by building the long-term organisational resilience and financial sustainability of the cultural and creative sector in Scotland.
This builds on the actions outlined in the Cultural Economy objective in Creative Scotland’s Corporate Plan 2011-14, to achieve the outcome of: ‘more resilient cultural organisations through greater collaboration, new sources of income, improved governance, and social enterprise models.’
Our approach is therefore to encourage, facilitate and unlock a greater entrepreneurial approach in the creative and cultural sector; incentivise new business initiatives, strategic projects and collaborations that will underpin greater resilience and sustainability - organisational, financial, digital, and environmental; and reconfigure the wider business development support to deliver optimum benefit for the sector.
